To Love and Forgive

Topic for today: Love and Forgiveness.

To love someone is to love them unconditionally. Jesus loves us unconditionally, no matter how many times we goof He continues to Love and forgive us. The Love of Christ is so awesome and huge it surpasses our understanding, we would never be able to even begin to know what it truly means to love the way Christ loves us. Can you imagine yourself dying for a stranger? or better yet to die for someone that has hurt you time and time again be it physically, mentally etc....
Well the bible says in Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own Love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Wow to die for people that you know will mock you time and time again, to die for people who have beaten you and to still be able to look at them and say "I Love You" knowing what is going to happen next. Now that is an amazing love, none of us could ever begin to love like that. I myself have thought about that so many times I know I want to love like Christ, I want to have his heart always.

Now we get to forgiveness in order for us to forgive we need to truly love. Love allows for a person to overlook the wrong doing of another person. Look, we all mess up, and yes it is so hard for us to begin to forgive one another for the wrong we have done to one another, but can you imagine what would have had happened if the times we messed up God was to say "you know what, I just had enough, I do not want to be bothered with you anymore, your a waste of my time." Where would we be, yet we continue to do this to one another. The love of Christ allows us to forgive but yet we choose to hold on to the damage others have done to us. The bible tells us in Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. So basically how can we expect God to forgive us if we can't forgive others and believe me what we do against God is far more greater than anyone can do to us.

So I leave you with this tonight remember to Love and Forgive for these are gifts the Lord has given to us.
